Pioneering Exhibition of organic and sustainable products and services, and a point of reference in Spain
|
If what you want is to live in a nice clean world with the best possible social and environmental well-being, Biocultura is a good place to go and find out about the alternative solutions to conventional consumer practices. |

Biocultura is an international event, an exhibition of alternatives and responsible consumption, giving space to both modern and long-standing tendencies that strive to make our world a nicer, cleaner place to live.

Every year, business people, shops, consumer motivators, importers and exporters, chefs and the general public all come to the show looking for answers and ideas. Here they can find information on issues as varied as where to buy organic vegetables in their area, which banks offer responsible ethical investments, how to install domestic solar power, and how much the best natural cosmetics cost.
There are more than 16,000 different items on show, divided into several different sectors. The largest sector is organic food. There are also certified natural hygiene products and cosmetics; bioconstruction materials; renewable energies; healthy furniture and decorating products for the home and workplace; complementary therapies and medicines; ways of making savings and recycling; toys and games; books and magazines; and much more… Also, there are expected to be more than 200 activities to take part in.

The children’s ecological festival, MamaTerra, coincides with Biocultura. This is an event for children offering a wide variety of activities and games, such as cookery workshops, the biological vegetable garden and orchard, and recycling and renewable energies workshops… The I Forum of debates on school vegetable and fruit gardens, which will take place on Saturday, 1st May, and which is aimed at primary and secondary school teachers, is particularly significant .
Biocultura is organised by the association, Vida Sana. In 2007, Vida Sana and Biocultura were awarded the Organic Food and Biodiversity Prize by the Ministries of Agriculture and the Environment and the Biodiversity Foundation in recognition of their dedication and commitment to quality of life.
Spain ranks sixth in the world and second in Europe for the production of organic foodstuffs; however in terms of their consumption, it brings up the rear. As consumers, learning about products and finding suggestions for choosing what we consume in a responsible way will permit us to opt for a more sustainable life and will help towards the growth of the use of national and local organic products.
