Climate Witness is a WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) initiative that has gathered stories from more than 140 people from all five continents who want to share the impact that climate change is having where they live, and how it is affecting their way of life and future prospects.

comillasThe objective of this programme is to match faces with the effects of climate change - a global phenomenon that affects people in all corners of the Planet, and which is having an impact on all professional activitiescomillas

An exhibition of photographs, put together by Francisco Márquez, has opened in Madrid showing photos of the faces of the people who have shared their stories about how climate change is affecting them. It can be visited from tomorrow until 30th June at Fundación Reale.

The project, which forms part of the worldwide Climate witness initiative, also includes a website and an exhibition that will tour Spain.

The WWF has selected 20 stories from the more than 140 sent in from all over the world. Witnesses from all 5 continents share their stories with us. A fisherman from Tanzania tells how the beach is disappearing, a Mexican photographer relates how year by year the area covered by snow in the mountains is gradually decreasing, a Nepalese mountain guide has seen how some of the glaciers have disappeared, and the resulting floods. These are just a few of the experiences that demonstrate the direct impact of climate change on the economy.
